Hi, We're James and Delise

We understand the journey to remarriage. Both experienced divorce, healing, and restoration before finding each other and building a marriage rooted in faith. That journey didn't just change their lives — it became their calling.

They are the founders of Ready to Remarry Ministries, serving as remarriage coaches helping thousands of people slow down, get healthy, and prepare wisely before saying “I do.” They equip pastors and churches to start Ready to Remarry small groups. Their Ready to Remarry devotional on the YouVersion Bible App has been downloaded more than 14,000 times worldwide.

With over 25 years of experience teaching Scripture, mentoring couples, and leading Bible studies, both are certified in Caring for People God's Way through the American Association of Christian Counselors and have served as marriage mentors at Vibrant Church in Columbus, Mississippi.

Delise Barnes is a Christian speaker, an ordained minister, and a Board-Certified Biblical Counselor. She graduated from Transformation Ministries' School of Ministry, the Christian Leaders Institute, and the Highlands College Leadership Institute. She serves as a State Coordinator for Moms in Prayer International.

James Barnes, Ph.D., is a Christian speaker and a leader of the Freedom Ministry at Church of the Highlands. He is also involved in and has spoken at the Walk to Emmaus Ministry. James has also worked as a professor and marketing coach for thousands of entrepreneurs for over 20 years. Additionally, he has more than 25 years of experience coaching youth sports.
